The organization began its activities in 2007 and through persistent efforts and continuous follow-up, opened the Hope Center for Cancer Treatment in Taiz in 2010 and officially opened in 2012, providing its services to all patients who visit it.

Al Amal Oncology Center - Taiz was established in 2010 and officially opened in May 2012 by the then Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord, Mr. Mohammed Salem Basindawa. The center has become a lifeline for the thousands of patients who visit it daily, providing healthcare services including examinations, diagnosis, equipment, medications, outpatient care, and hospitalization. It also provides psychological counseling and support during treatment, in addition to social support services that help patients survive.
The center is located in the middle of five Yemeni governorates, in addition to patients coming from all districts of Taiz Governorate, which has the highest population density and highest infection rate in the country.
Al Amal Center is the second largest center in the Republic of Yemen, the first of its kind in the country, and the only specialized center in Taiz Governorate dedicated to caring for cancer patients.

Before the center's opening, patients were forced to travel to the capital, Sana'a, for months-long treatment. The opening of the Al Amal Cancer Center in Taiz offered hope for patients and their families that they could receive treatment in their own city at a lower cost and with less hassle.
